Peter Gurr, DDS

Dr. Peter Gurr earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Translation from Brigham Young University and completed dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating cum laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2008. While attending dental school, he received an award for student leadership. He has practiced in San Antonio, TX since 2009.

Dr. Gurr continues to advance his education and training as a dentist as often as possible, seeking to improve daily as he practices in order to provide the best care possible for his patients. He has completed advanced training in many areas, including special needs patients and laser dentistry. Dr. Gurr completed his pediatric residency in Arizona and became a board-certified pediatric dentist through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). As an enthusiastic pediatric dentist, he loves playing/working with children and seeing their lives, health and habits improve through his efforts. His patients often get nutrition tips from him in addition to flossing reminders! He loves using lasers for everything possible and his favorite procedure to perform is a tongue and/or lip tie release on infants because of the huge difference it makes in the baby's life as well as the mom's!

When he isn't having fun at work, Dr. Gurr can be found helping his wife take care of their four sons. He has spent much time serving in Boy Scout troops with his sons; they enjoy camping and all things outdoors. He loves coaching them in soccer and basketball and also enjoys playing most sports himself (and a yearly sprint triathlon), as well as building and fixing things. He loves dark chocolate and nuts and digs "The Piano Guys."

Scott Jensen, DDS

Dr. Scott Jensen has practiced dentistry for over 14 years, the last nine of which have been at The Dentists for Kids in San Antonio, Texas. His mission is to provide children with truly ENJOYABLE dental visits so they can learn to appreciate their teeth now, thereby instilling in them the value of a healthy mouth and later prosper from a lifetime of excellent oral health.

Dr. Jensen finds balance and joy in spending quality time with his wife and children. Outside of work, he loves indulging in movie nights, staying active through regular exercise at Lifetime Fitness, hiking around San Antonio, and taking on various home improvement projects. This combination of professional fulfillment allows Dr. Jensen to bring a well-rounded perspective to patient care.

Dr. Maria Karakousoglou Dr. Chrishell Yates, DDS,MS

Dr. Yates discovered her passion for orthodontics early on, inspired by her own positive experience with braces as a teenager. After high school, she began working as an orthodontic assistant at a local practice, where she quickly realized she had found her calling. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco in 2011, followed by a Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of Colorado in Denver in 2014.

Outside the office, Dr. Yates enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters, Emilia and Ava. Together, they love spending time outdoors—biking, skiing, camping, and discovering new restaurants. In quieter moments, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and experimenting in the kitchen.
